Tricycles
Tricycles are famous in Palawan. It is essentially a motorcycle with a passenger attachment fabricated around it. Riders side in a seat next to and/or behind the tricycle driver. They fit 3-4 people and some even have smaller cargo areas.
The car attachment generally has minimal protection from the elements, little or no safety equipment, but can do in a pinch.
You simply hail tricycles along any road. If they’re available, they stop, you tell them where you’re going and negotiate a price. For people who are obviously tourists, the prices are always a bit higher than for locals. You pay only with cash, so make sure you’re carrying some cash in smaller denominations.
